Activities of Hakata-ori Textile Industrial Association

In and Out of Japan
Hakata-ori is making a name for itself around the world. The pictures shown above are when Ms. Yumi Katsura, a leading fashion designer in Japan, presented the ritual attire made of Hakata-ori, to the Pope.
The portrait of President Clinton was made in digital weaving and presented to the White House through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We received a letter of appreciation from the President.
Also domestically, without limiting its application to kimono, but to expand it to bridal dresses, small articles, bags and other items called HAKATA JAPAN, Hakata-ori is incorporated with innovative ideas transcending the conventional framework.

Textile design we can be proud.
In addition to the 760 years of tradition, the bags and small articles are made with innovative fashionable designs. HAKATA JAPAN creates the future of Hakata-ori and now promotes it outside Japan.
